The São Paulo Grand Prix was chaotic even before the start, as Leclerc crashed on the formation lap with a hydraulic problem. Soon after the race start, Albon and Magnussen collided heavily, causing a red flag. After the restart Verstappen held the lead, with Norris chasing in second. Norris stayed close early, but Verstappen managed his tyres and gradually opened the gap. In the closing laps Alonso and Pérez fought intensely for third, with Alonso finishing narrowly ahead at the line. Verstappen won, Norris finished second and Alonso third, while Yuki Tsunoda scored points in ninth.
