Daniel Ricciardo

Overview

Daniel Ricciardo is an Australian driver and one of Formula 1’s most popular personalities. In 2020 he scored podiums for Renault, then moved to McLaren in 2021 and delivered the team’s famous victory at Monza. However, he struggled to adapt consistently to McLaren’s car characteristics and left after 2022. A return through AlphaTauri in 2023 brought renewed hope, but injury and uneven results with RB left him under pressure again. Ricciardo’s late-braking overtakes, humour and charisma made him a fan favourite, while his 2020s story became a mixture of triumph, reinvention and the difficulty of recapturing peak form.
