AlphaTauri
Scuderia AlphaTauri
AlphaTauri was the Faenza-based Formula 1 team owned by Red Bull, created in 2020 when Toro Rosso was renamed after Red Bull’s fashion brand. The team inherited the lineage of Minardi and Toro Rosso, while continuing to serve as part of the wider Red Bull driver and technical structure. It was expected to develop talent, but also to show a more mature and independent competitive identity. The defining moment of the AlphaTauri era came at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix, where Pierre Gasly took a dramatic victory at Monza. It was the Faenza team’s second Formula 1 win, following Sebastian Vettel’s 2008 triumph for Toro Rosso. Yuki Tsunoda also made his F1 debut during this period, giving the team a strong connection to Red Bull’s modern driver pathway and to Japanese F1 fans. The AlphaTauri name disappeared after 2023 as the team transitioned into RB F1 Team. Its lifespan was short, but its impact was clear through Gasly’s win, Tsunoda’s arrival and the continuation of the Faenza story. AlphaTauri represents a transitional chapter between Toro Rosso and Racing Bulls, combining brand identity, driver development and occasional giant-killing results.
