Race results

The Monaco Grand Prix began with Leclerc holding the lead from pole, but a huge first-lap crash involving Pérez, Magnussen and Hülkenberg brought out the red flag. Sainz also suffered a puncture after contact with Piastri on the opening lap, but the red flag allowed him to restart from his original third place. After the restart, most drivers had effectively completed their tyre-change requirement, and the narrow street circuit produced little overtaking. Leclerc managed the gap to Piastri through the middle phase, while Norris, Russell and Verstappen remained locked in the train behind. Leclerc stayed composed to take his first home victory, the first for a Monégasque driver since 1931. Piastri finished second and Sainz third.
