Race results

The Italian Grand Prix began with polesitter Norris leading, but Piastri passed his teammate on the opening lap to take control. McLaren looked strong early, but Ferrari switched Leclerc onto a one-stop strategy and committed to extending tyre life. Through the middle phase Piastri and Norris chased on two-stop plans, while Leclerc protected his hard tyres and kept track position. In the closing laps Piastri closed rapidly, but Leclerc held on in front of the Monza crowd. Leclerc gave Ferrari its first home Italian Grand Prix victory since 2019, with Piastri second and Norris third. McLaren had the pace, but Ferrari won through strategy.
