The British Grand Prix began under overcast skies with intermittent rain, creating a difficult race. Russell led early from pole, with Hamilton and Norris behind, but as the rain intensified the McLarens came alive and Norris briefly moved into the lead. In the middle phase the switches to intermediates and then back to slicks became decisive. Russell retired with a water-system problem, while Hamilton gained control with a well-timed switch to soft tyres. In the closing laps Verstappen used hard tyres to pass Norris for second, but he could not catch Hamilton. Hamilton took his first win since 2021, doing so at home, and claimed a record ninth British Grand Prix victory.
