Race results

The Qatar Grand Prix began with polesitter Verstappen holding the lead, while the Mercedes drivers collided on lap one, forcing Hamilton to retire. For safety reasons, tyre stints were limited, effectively forcing multiple pit stops for the field. Even under those restrictions Verstappen maintained control and dominated his first race as confirmed champion. Behind him, Piastri and Norris recovered strongly and again showed McLaren's race pace. The heat and high-load corners made the race extremely demanding, but Verstappen won, with Piastri second and Norris third. McLaren completed a double podium.
