Race results

The Canadian Grand Prix began with polesitter Verstappen holding the lead and controlling the opening phase. Hamilton passed Alonso for second early on, but Alonso recovered pace and later reclaimed the position. Russell hit the wall and damaged his car before eventually retiring. A safety-car period compressed the race, while Ferrari used long first stints to move forward. Verstappen remained in control after the restart and delivered Red Bull's 100th Formula One victory. Alonso finished second and Hamilton third. Albon defended strongly to finish seventh and score valuable points for Williams.
