Baku City Circuit

Baku, Azerbaijan

Race results

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix began with Verstappen holding the lead from pole, while championship leader Piastri had a disastrous start: his anti-stall activated after a jump-start movement, dropping him to the back, and he crashed at turn 6 on lap one, bringing out the safety car. After the restart Verstappen controlled the pace, while Russell used hard tyres and a well-timed overcut to move ahead of Sainz. A later Albon-Colapinto incident added brief disruption, but Verstappen led every lap and won, completing the sixth grand slam of his career. Russell finished second, and Sainz took third to give Williams its first podium since 2021.
