The Italian Grand Prix began with polesitter Verstappen holding off Norris and building an early lead on Monza's high-speed layout. The McLaren pair of Norris and Piastri chased, but Red Bull's straight-line performance and Verstappen's consistency kept him in control. Through the middle phase there was little strategic disruption, while Leclerc tried to keep Ferrari in podium contention and Hamilton recovered from tenth on the grid. Late in the race Norris and Verstappen traded laps at record average speeds, with Norris ultimately setting the official race lap record at 1:20.901. Verstappen won, Norris finished second and Piastri completed the podium.
