The Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix started with polesitter George Russell holding the lead and Mercedes controlling the early phase. Lewis Hamilton kept pressure on from second, while Lando Norris stayed within podium range and waited for an opportunity. In the middle part of the race, a virtual safety car and pit strategy shifted the momentum, allowing Hamilton to use fresher tyres to close on Russell. In the final phase he completed the move and took his first victory for Ferrari, also his first Grand Prix win since 2024. Russell finished second and Norris third, making the race a major turning point in Hamilton's season.
