FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX 2025

Yas Marina Circuit

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Race results

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix began with polesitter Verstappen defending the inside line and holding off Norris into turn 1. Piastri passed Norris on the opening lap to take second, putting the three title contenders at the front immediately. Through the middle phase Norris chased on hard tyres and had a tense battle with Yuki Tsunoda, briefly leaving the track but avoiding a major penalty outcome. Piastri managed tyre wear while holding second, and Norris resisted pressure from Leclerc to keep third. Verstappen won the race and Piastri finished second, but Norris's third-place podium gave him the points he needed to secure his first Formula One World Championship, becoming the first British champion since Hamilton in 2008.
