FORMULA 1 LOUIS VUITTON AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2025

Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit

Melbourne, Australia

Race results

The Australian Grand Prix was run in changing intermediate conditions and was delayed after Isack Hadjar crashed on the formation lap. Lando Norris led from pole in the opening phase, with McLaren initially controlling the race, but the slippery track produced repeated mistakes and several safety-car periods. In the middle phase Norris and Oscar Piastri both went off in difficult conditions, briefly allowing Max Verstappen to take the lead. Norris recovered the position and, in the closing laps, held Verstappen behind to win by less than a second. The result gave McLaren its first Australian Grand Prix victory since 2012 and put Norris into the championship lead for the first time.
