The Las Vegas Grand Prix began with polesitter Norris running wide at turn 1, allowing Verstappen to take the lead from second on the grid. Russell also jumped from fourth to second, leaving Norris third in the opening phase. Behind them, Bortoleto and Stroll collided and retired, while Lawson's damage triggered a virtual safety car. Antonelli received a five-second penalty for a false start but used an early switch to hard tyres to attempt a long one-stop race. Norris passed Russell on lap 34, but later had to lift and coast. Verstappen won on track, and after the race both McLarens were disqualified for excessive skid wear, promoting Russell to second and Antonelli to third.
