Esteban Ocon was born in Évreux, France, in 1996 and built his racing career with major sacrifices from his family. He rose through karting and junior single-seaters, winning the 2014 European Formula 3 title in a field that included Max Verstappen. Supported at different stages by Mercedes, he gained experience through testing and DTM before making his Formula 1 debut with Manor in 2016. Ocon impressed at Force India with speed, race toughness and consistency, though his rivalry with Sergio Pérez sometimes boiled over into contact. After a year away from the grid, he returned with Renault and then Alpine. His defining moment came at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, where he handled a chaotic race calmly and took his first F1 victory, giving Alpine its first win under that name. By 2026, Ocon is taking on a new challenge with Haas after years in manufacturer-linked teams. His strengths are resilience, physical commitment and the ability to survive difficult competitive environments. He is not always the flashiest driver, but his career has been shaped by persistence, hard racing and the capacity to turn rare opportunities into meaningful results.
