Race results

The Canadian Grand Prix started on a wet track, with polesitter Russell holding the early lead. Verstappen and Norris chased, and as the surface began to dry Norris moved into the lead, giving McLaren a real chance of victory. In the middle phase, Logan Sargeant crashed and brought out the safety car, and the pit timing allowed Verstappen to regain strategic control. As the track transitioned from intermediates to slicks, Russell and Hamilton both fought for the podium, but a later incident involving Sainz and Albon triggered another safety car. Verstappen held the lead after the restart and won, with Norris second and Russell third. Hamilton set the fastest lap and finished fourth.
