Ricardo Zonta

Ricardo Zonta is a Brazilian driver whose 2000s Formula 1 work included BAR, Jordan and Toyota. A former FIA GT champion, he arrived in F1 with a strong reputation but struggled at BAR against Jacques Villeneuve and within a developing team. At Toyota he became an important test driver and made substitute race appearances in 2004 and 2005. Major F1 results eluded him, but his development ability and broad racing background made him useful to teams. Zonta’s career is best viewed across both Formula 1 and sports cars, where his talent was more fully displayed.
