Johnny Herbert

Overview

Johnny Herbert is a British driver whose final Formula 1 season came with Jaguar in 2000. A Grand Prix winner with Benetton and Stewart, he was also admired for overcoming a serious early-career accident to build a long F1 career. Jaguar’s first season did not deliver the competitiveness expected, so results were limited, but Herbert brought valuable experience to a new manufacturer-backed project. His F1 career ended after a crash at the 2000 Malaysian Grand Prix. He remains remembered for resilience, humour and the ability to win despite physical setbacks.
