Eddie Irvine

Eddie Irvine is a British driver whose early-2000s career was spent leading Jaguar. After fighting for the 1999 title with Ferrari, he moved to the new manufacturer-backed team, but Jaguar never became as competitive as expected. Even so, Irvine delivered important podiums at Monaco in 2001 and Monza in 2002, giving the team some of its best results. Known for blunt comments, confidence and opportunistic race craft, he was one of F1’s more colourful personalities. He left the sport after 2002 as the driver most strongly associated with Jaguar’s difficult F1 years.
