Honda Racing F1 Team
Overview
Honda returned as a full works team from 2006 to 2008 after taking over BAR. The highlight came at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix, where Jenson Button scored the team’s first victory of the era. However, 2007 and 2008 were marked by aerodynamic problems, confused development and poor results, despite the memorable Earth-livery concept. Honda withdrew at the end of 2008 amid the global financial crisis, but the organisation and 2009 car concept became the basis for Brawn GP’s title-winning miracle. Honda’s works spell mixed triumph and frustration.
