Romain Grosjean

Romain Grosjean is a French driver who made his Formula 1 debut with Renault in 2009. He replaced Nelson Piquet Jr. mid-season, entering a team under heavy pressure during the Crashgate scandal and facing the difficult benchmark of Fernando Alonso. With limited preparation and an unstable environment, he could not make a major impression in results. However, Grosjean rebuilt his reputation in GP2 and later returned to F1 in 2012 with far greater impact. His 2009 debut was a difficult apprenticeship rather than a full measure of the driver he would later become.
