How to read the gap chart

  • The vertical axis shows the gap to the reference car or leader. Lower means a smaller gap; higher means a larger gap.
  • Each driver line shows gap changes lap by lap. Moving down means closing the gap; moving up means losing ground.
  • P marks pit stop, R marks retirement, and D marks disqualification.

How to read the gap chart

The gap chart shows how far each driver was from the leader on every lap. Pit strategy, traffic, tyre degradation, and late-race attacks appear as time differences.

It adds context that the classification table cannot show, especially for gaps to the lead group and changes within the midfield.
