Nikita Mazepin

Nikita Mazepin is a Russian driver who made his Formula 1 debut with Haas in 2021. The team was in a difficult financial and technical period, and the car was largely uncompetitive, leaving Mazepin and team-mate Mick Schumacher fighting at the back. Although he arrived from Formula 2 with experience, his F1 season was marked by spins, errors and a struggle to build momentum. Before the 2022 season, Haas ended its relationship with him and title sponsor Uralkali following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. His short F1 career is therefore remembered as much for political and sponsorship context as for racing results.
