Luciano Burti

Luciano Burti is a Brazilian driver who debuted with Jaguar in 2000 and raced for Jaguar and Prost in 2001. He showed promise as a young driver, but his Formula 1 career was dramatically affected by a huge crash at the 2001 Belgian Grand Prix. The accident at Blanchimont, where he struck the tyre barrier heavily, was extremely serious and effectively redirected his career away from regular Grand Prix racing. Burti’s F1 record is short, yet he remains remembered both as a Brazilian prospect and as part of the safety story of the early 2000s.
