Jolyon Palmer

Overview

Jolyon Palmer is a British driver who reached Formula 1 as a GP2 champion, joining Renault in 2016 as the manufacturer rebuilt its works team. The car’s competitiveness was inconsistent, and Palmer faced a difficult environment in which to establish himself. In 2017 he struggled against Nico Hülkenberg and lost his seat before the season ended. His F1 results were limited, but his junior record showed genuine ability. After racing, Palmer became a respected broadcaster and analyst, using his driver’s perspective to explain race craft, strategy and incidents clearly to viewers.
