Stoffel Vandoorne

Stoffel Vandoorne is a Belgian driver who entered Formula 1 with McLaren after dominating GP2. He scored points on debut as a substitute at the 2016 Bahrain Grand Prix, then raced full-time in 2017 and 2018. However, McLaren’s struggles, including the Honda power-unit period, made it difficult to show his full ability, and comparison with Fernando Alonso was extremely demanding. After leaving F1, Vandoorne became a Formula E champion and remained connected to Grand Prix teams as a reserve. His career is a strong example of talent that flourished outside an unfavourable F1 environment.
