Robert Doornbos

Robert Doornbos is a Dutch driver who debuted with Minardi in 2005 and later raced for Red Bull in 2006 after replacing Christian Klien. His Formula 1 career was short, but he was involved with several teams through testing, reserve roles and race opportunities. He experienced two very different environments: Minardi’s final period and Red Bull’s early development years. Major results were not realistic, but he gained valuable international experience. After F1 he competed in Champ Car and other categories. Doornbos helped bridge the Dutch F1 presence between Jos Verstappen and the later Verstappen era.
