Spyker
Etihad Aldar Spyker F1 Team
Overview
Spyker raced in 2007 after taking over Midland and gave Formula 1 a brief Dutch-branded team. Its drivers included Christijan Albers, Adrian Sutil, Sakon Yamamoto and Markus Winkelhock. The car was generally uncompetitive, but the team produced memorable moments: Winkelhock briefly led the wet European Grand Prix, and Sutil scored a valuable point at the Japanese Grand Prix. Financially the project was short-lived and became Force India the following year. Spyker’s F1 life was brief, but it left a few distinctive stories.
