Overview
MF1 was the Midland team name used in 2006 after the purchase of Jordan. With Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro, it presented itself as a new Russian-backed project, but on track it remained near the back of the grid. Resources and development capacity were limited, and points were out of reach. During the season the team was sold to Spyker, continuing a rapid chain of identity changes from Jordan to Midland, Spyker and eventually Force India. MF1 represents a transitional stage in the reshaping of small teams in the mid-2000s.
