Audi
Audi F1 Team
Audi is one of Germany’s major automotive manufacturers and a brand with deep success in endurance racing, touring cars and rallying. For most of Formula 1 history, Audi did not compete directly as a works entrant, but the introduction of new power unit regulations created the opportunity for a full programme. Its F1 project is built around the Sauber operation, which provides an existing racing base for the transition. Audi’s Formula 1 entry is a long-term project aimed at the 2026 regulatory era. The plan combines Sauber’s team infrastructure with Audi’s own power unit development in Germany. The expectation is that Audi will bring engineering discipline, manufacturer resources and a motorsport culture shaped by achievements at Le Mans, in DTM and in the World Rally Championship. The challenge is to convert that pedigree into F1 competitiveness. By 2026, Audi is viewed as one of the most important new manufacturer projects in Formula 1. Success is unlikely to be instant, but the combination of works status, independent power unit development and Sauber’s long F1 experience gives the programme clear significance. For F1STAND, Audi should be treated not just as a newcomer, but as a major modern entry backed by a substantial racing heritage.
