Overview

Toro Rosso functioned throughout the 2010s as Red Bull’s main junior-team platform. It fielded and evaluated drivers such as Sébastien Buemi, Jaime Alguersuari, Daniel Ricciardo, Jean-Éric Vergne, Carlos Sainz, Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly and Alexander Albon. Verstappen’s 2015 debut at a very young age made the team especially visible, while several drivers later moved into or around Red Bull Racing. Toro Rosso did not win during the decade, but its importance as a development and evaluation team was enormous. It became AlphaTauri after 2019.
