Tarso Marques

Overview

Tarso Marques is a Brazilian driver who returned to Formula 1 with Minardi in 2001 after earlier appearances for the same team in the 1990s. He raced alongside rookie Fernando Alonso in a car with very limited competitiveness, making comparisons difficult as Alonso’s talent quickly became obvious. Marques lost his seat during the season, but he gained further experience in one of F1’s smallest teams. His Grand Prix career was modest, yet he remains part of the Minardi story and of the broader group of Brazilian drivers active around the early 2000s.
