Scott Speed

Scott Speed is an American driver who raced for Toro Rosso in 2006 and 2007 after coming through the Red Bull programme. As an American on the F1 grid, he drew attention at a time when the sport was still searching for stronger connections to the United States. Toro Rosso’s machinery was limited, making results difficult, but Speed showed aggression and confidence. His relationship with the team deteriorated, and he lost his seat during 2007. After F1 he raced in NASCAR and rallycross, building a varied career across very different forms of motorsport.
