Marcus Ericsson

Overview

Marcus Ericsson is a Swedish driver who debuted with Caterham in 2014 before spending several seasons with Sauber. Much of his F1 career took place in lower-grid machinery, making results difficult, but he gained experience and became part of Sauber’s period of survival and rebuilding. In 2018 he faced a tough comparison with rookie Charles Leclerc, though he still scored points. After leaving Formula 1, Ericsson transformed his reputation in IndyCar, winning the Indianapolis 500. His career is a reminder that F1 results do not always define a driver’s full ability or later success.
